Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American singer, actress and writer. Her family was home-schooled by her mom in the USA. Her childhood was filled with racist taunts and made to feel unwanted. In the ninth grade, after a school audition, where she received high praise for her singing and acoustics, she began to gain confidence. It not only increased her confidence but her dreams were changed. She graduated from New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. When she was 23, she started her professional career, making her debut on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films in You've got Mail. However her greatest breakthrough came when she played the role in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the very first Broadway production of Spamalot garnering not only the Tony Award for her performance but also a flurry of praise from critics. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC the show, she received more appreciation. The actress is also a renowned performer and has released an extended play. In her role as an activist, she strives to promote LGBT equality.
